A literal mom-and-pop shop where husband and wife duo Nick and Natalie create non-toxic greeting cards using our vintage Risograph from our home in San Diego. Like a digital screen printer, the Riso makes it possible to print bespoke images affordably, sustainably and with a unique visual profile.

This is our first card with a message printed on the inside and it's a sweet remix of the old poem "Roses are red, violets are blue" this time finishing off "your baby is cute and so are you" because it's easy for a new mom to forget she's a hot babe herself.

Here's what we love about the Riso and the art we're able to make with it:
The entire process is eco-friendly. Instead of harsh chemicals to burn and wash the screens, the Riso burns its screens in a similar way as a scanner. Plus the 200-pound machine itself is Energy Star rated for the miniscule amount of energy it requires to print even the largest runs. And the ink is soy-based so it's clean to the touch and even the drums are easily recycled. That does mean, though, that it never fully dries. Think of a newspaper (remember those?), if you smash your thumb across the page, it will turn up black. We dry our greeting cards for several days before cutting, folding and packaging them. But you'll want to treat your card a bit like a newspaper when you're handling it.
Quality and quantity. We can print way faster with a Riso than we can on our etching press or screen printing presses. But each image retains a hand-made feel (thanks to the soy-ink and the retro technology). As such, there are some variations in the ink saturation of each print. We only include the highest quality prints in each edition, but discerning eyes may experience small differences in ink rolls or color saturations between prints.
We offer our greeting cards as individual items or packages for multiples of a single design or a variety bundle. Send a note to inquire about bulk options.
All designs are ready to ship.
